The Library Insurance Management and Risk Control Combination (LIMRiCC) was established to provide conventional insurance coverage and/or self-insurance for claims against or by its participants. The programs offered provide participating libraries with lower premiums as all these libraries are pooled together as one organization. 

The Accounting Department currently bills and administers three programs as follows:

Joint Self-Insurance Program (JSIP)

The purpose of the Pool is to seek reduction of losses by reason of liability of claims and to reduce the costs of insuring against such claims by participating libraries.  Liability for claims is limited to $1,000,000 per occurrence. 

Unemployment Compensation Group Account (UCGA)

Participating libraries are able to submit their portion of unemployment compensation directly to LIMRiCC rather than the state.  MLS computes a yearly rate based on the three year history of claims and taxable payroll for each library with a maximum rate of 5%. 

Purchase of Health Insurance Program (PHIP)

This program provides life, health, dental and vision insurance for participating libraries. PHIP also provides an Employee Assistant Program and handles all COBRA requirements for participating libraries.
